After sharing the District 8-6A title during the regular season, the W.T. White boys soccer team hopes to keep that momentum during postseason play.
The Longhorns (15-3-4) will face South Grand Prairie in the bi-district round of the Region I playoffs at 8 p.m. Thursday at Kincaide Stadium.
The Warriors (13-8-2) are the third-place team from District 7-6A. The winner will meet either Southlake Carroll or Hebron next week in the area round.
Prior to Thursday’s game at Kincaide, the WTW girls will open the playoffs against Mansfield Lake Ridge at 6 p.m. The Longhorns (18-4-2) finished third in 8-6A during the regular season, but were unbeaten in 10 nondistrict games in January.
Lake Ridge is the runner-up from 7-6A. The winner will advance to play either Carroll or Flower Mound in the second round.
In other playoff action this week, the District 11-4A champion Hillcrest boys will host Ferris in a Region II bi-district game at 8 p.m. Thursday. And the Hillcrest girls, also regular-season champions in their district, will face Venus at 8 p.m. Friday at Kincaide.
