Home Stretch: Scots Chasing 13-5A Title

Highland Park rebounded from back-to-back defeats with two lopsided wins over Greenville this week, keeping the Scots in contention for a District 13-5A title.

The Scots earned an 11-0 victory on Tuesday and a 13-3 triumph on Saturday — in a game rescheduled due to inclement weather — to remain a half-game behind North Forney for district supremacy with two games remaining.

HP split its two games against the Falcons, including a 5-2 road loss on April 19. That came on the heels of a nondistrict defeat to Class 6A power Prosper Rock Hill by an 8-6 score.

To finish the regular season, the Scots (17-11, 10-2) will face Royse City twice in a series to likely determine the district’s No. 2 seed in the upcoming playoffs. HP will host the Bulldogs on Tuesday before hitting the road on April 30.
