Three Panthers Make College Choices

Less than two weeks after winning the TAPPS Division I state championship, three Parish Episcopal football standouts finalized their college plans on Wednesday.

Defensive lineman Blake Burris committed to Air Force, while safety Kaleb Culp signed with Incarnate Word and cornerback Luke Bridges committed to play at Harvard. All three also played frequently on offense for the Panthers.

Burris and Culp were each among Parish’s nine first-team honorees on the TAPPS Division I all-state team. Joining them were quarterback Preston Stone, running back Cauren Lynch, offensive lineman Alejandro Garcia, receiver Evan Greene, defensive lineman Josue Munoz, defensive back Kenneth Borders, and athlete Christian Benson.

The Panthers defeated Plano John Paul II 42-14 on Dec. 6 in Waco to win their first title in the state’s largest private-school classification.
