Preston Hollow Women’s Club Strut For Charity

Fashion is how we express ourselves and links us to past moments: what you were wearing when you met your husband, how you felt when you put on your most beautiful cocktail dress, the year you wore your skinniest jeans.

For the Preston Hollow Women’s Club, it will forever spark the memory of raising more than $30,000 this year to purchase a “must needed” and wished for digital marquee for Preston Hollow Elementary School – the group’s philanthropy.

Preston Hollow Women’s Club is a social and philanthropic organization that promotes a strong neighborhood through its various programs, philanthropic projects, and special interest groups.

Recently, the women celebrated their success by donning some of Tootsies must-haves for the summer at an in-store fashion event.

“This was a huge accomplishment and something that was sorely needed,” the women said about their continued efforts to raise money for PHES.

The fashion event began with what Nerissa Von Helpenstil and Dustin Holcomb, the Dallas store’s director and sales manager, called “dressing for the occasion.”

“Dallas we are lucky because we are a destination of women dressing for occasion,” Von Helpenstil said.

Opening the show: a baby blue jacket paired with a printed skirt was deemed perfect for a gallery opening; a violet – the season’s biggest color – dress for a luncheon; and a floral pantsuit was considered to be a very chic way to do cocktail attire.

Other “destination” options included a green mid-length Badgley Mischka dress, a floral neoprene perfect for traveling with, and a beautiful coral dress made for accessorizing.

When it came to accessories of the season, Tootsie’s team said a snakeskin print is the new neutral, slides and mules are huge, statement earrings, shells, are a must, destination scarves (think an entire map of the Isle of Capri) are quite literal, and handbags should be either clear, belted, or straw.

Also, turban-like headbands and scrunchies with a twist are back in style.
