Alcuin Students Win Mandarin Competition

Alcuin School was recognized by the Confucius Institute at UT Dallas for its video submission highlighting a Chinese language performance by elementary students.

Students in Alcuin’s Mandarin program submitted videos demonstrating their language skills in traditional greetings and skits, which highlighted culture and customs related to the Chinese New Year.

Alcuin won second place for best performance in Mandarin among the entries received from schools statewide. The school was also recognized for its video submission of Chinese New Year greetings (Elementary and High School combined) which was also published on the official website of the Confucius Institute.
The school’s Mandarin program supports a shared vision with the Confucius Institute at UTD which encourages Chinese language education, enhances the understanding of China, and facilitates cultural exchanges between China and the state of Texas.

The students’ video not only exhibited the children’s Mandarin skills, but also highlighted the diverse and rich history of China.
