Lamplighter Math Walk

Lamplighter was the first school in Texas, and the only elementary school in North America, to participate in the “Math Walk” at New York City’s National Museum of Mathematics. Museum representatives Glen Whitney and City Lawrence spent the day with the third and fourth grade students in an effort to “share the love of mathematics.”

Lamplighter faculty member Jo Nelson said the event was a “creative and interesting way of introducing the students to the importance and use of math in everyday life.”
