Skulduggery of the week: A Galaxy (That’s Now) Far, Far Away

Between 7:43 and 8 a.m. on April 7, a thief stole a $400 Samsung Galaxy Tablet from an Uber driver while being transported from the Nylo Hotel in the 1300 block of South Lamar Street to a house in Willow Wood Circle.

HIGHLAND PARK

5 TUESDAY
At 3:37 p.m., Isiah Kevon Griffin, 19, of Dallas, was arrested in Highland Park Village on charges of carrying a weapon without a license and possession of marijuana.

8 FRIDAY
At 10:15 a.m., a thief stole two $450 Stihl hedge trimmers from the bed of a Ford F150 truck in the 3800 block of Beverly Drive.

UNIVERSITY PARK

6 WEDNESDAY
Between 2:45 and 3 a.m., a thief stole a $20 wallet and $200 in cash from a victim in the 6300 block of Golf Drive.

7 THURSDAY
At 10:24 a.m., an assailant struck a victim’s hand in the 3300 block of Stanford Avenue. The wrongdoer was issued a citation for assault.

9 SATURDAY
Between 10 and 10:50 p.m., a thief stole two $1,000 boys bicycles from the 3600 block of Haynie Avenue.

At 10:57 p.m., a scoundrel was detained and then evaded arrest. At 11 p.m., Keaton Dean Coyle, 18, of Dallas, was arrested in the 3400 block of Potomac Avenue on a charge of public intoxication.

Between 4 and 11 p.m., a vandal cause $250 in damages to the door of a house in the 3300 block of Stanford Avenue.

10 SUNDAY
At 12:16 a.m., Matthew S. Rund, 20, of University Park was arrested at SMU in the 3000 block of Dyer Court on a charge of public intoxication.

Between 2 and 3:39 p.m., a burglar broke into a vehicle in the 6800 block of Hunters Glen Road and stole a $100 wallet, a $200 Louis Vuitton purse, $200 in cosmetics, $200 in miscellaneous property, a $500 Kate Spade purse, $500 in Ray Bans merchandise, and $600 in merchandise.

DALLAS

6 WEDNESDAY
Between 8:10 and 8:50 a.m., a shoplifter stole merchandise from LensCrafters at NorthPark Center. 

7 THURSDAY
Between 11:15 and 11:50 a.m., a shoplifter stole merchandise from True Religion at NorthPark Center.

At 8:40 p.m., a shoplifter stole merchandise from Victoria’s Secret at NorthPark Center. 

9 SATURDAY
Between 1:45 and 2 p.m., a shoplifter stole merchandise from Dillard’s at NorthPark Center. David Jernigan, 39, was arrested on a charge of theft.
