Art Show Benefiting Alex’s Lemonade Foundation

The Zhen Music and Arts Institute (ZMAAI) will be hosting an art show benefitting Alex’s Lemonade Foundation.

The art show will be on display at the institute from April 3 to May 14. Receptions for the art show will be held on the following dates:

  • April 3 at 3 p.m.
  • April 24 at 3 p.m.

Proceeds from the artwork sales will be donated to pediatric cancer funding in honor of Alex Podeszwa, a student at ZMAAI, who lost his 9 year battle at the age of 14 to neuroblastoma.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand was founded by Alexandra Scott, who battled her own case of neuroblastoma for 8 years. After receiving a stem cell transplant in 2000, Scott told her mother she wanted to have a lemonade stand saying she wanted to donate the money made to doctors to “help kids like me”. After raising an estimated $2000 with her brother from the first lemonade stand, it has become an annual tradition for her family.
