SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: SNATCH AND DASH
Between 10 and 10:16 a.m. on Jan. 25., shoplifters stole numerous handbags and wallets, with a total value of $4,770, from Tory Burch at Highland Park Village. Security footage showed two females entered the store. While one was distracting the employees, the other shoved the merchandise into a bag. The two women left, heading eastward bound.
HIGHLAND PARK
25 MONDAY
Between 4 p.m. on Jan. 20 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 25, a thief broke into a black Chevrolet SUV in the 4500 block of Versailles Avenue and stole the third-row seat and four sets of headphones.
At 10:41 a.m., a resident of the 4300 block of Lorraine Avenue reported that between 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 16 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 17, a thief stole a $100 Trek E65 Hybrid bicycle, and a $600 Cannondale Hybrid bicycle from the garage.
26 TUESDAY
Between 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 and 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 26, a thief entered a gray 2012 Mercedes-Benz E350 in the 4600 block of Belclaire Avenue and stole a $40 canvas holder and phone charger, a $300 TUMI briefcase, and a $1,000 Dell laptop.
At 10:03 a.m., a FedEx Home Delivery Van backed into a wall in a parking lot in the 4300 block of Westside Drive and knocked it over.
At 2:56 p.m., a shoplifter stole a $4,950 purse at Tom Ford in Highland Park Village.
Between 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 and 7 p.m. on Jan. 26, a thief entered a white 2013 Mercedes G63 SUV in the 4500 block of Belfort Avenue and stole a $400 Colt Mustang pistol.
27 WEDNESDAY
At 8:50 p.m., a white 2015 Dodge struck an ambulance in the parking lot of Whole Foods in the 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive.
31 SUNDAY
At 4:30 a.m., Daniel Musomba, 31, of Roanoke, was arrested in the 3600 block of Armstrong Avenue on a charge of public intoxication.
At 11:21 p.m., Crystal Rae Chapman, 34, of Highland Park, was arrested in the 4600 block of Beverly Drive on a charge of public intoxication

25 MONDAY
Between noon and 4 p.m., a burglar broke into a black 2012 Chevrolet SUV in the garage of a house in the 3000 block of Bryn Mawr Drive and stole $40 in cash, a $100 wallet, and a $600 purse.
Between 8 a.m. and 3:40 p.m., a thief stole a $350 Cannondale Trail 7 bicycle from McCulloch Intermediate School.
27 WEDNESDAY
At 1:58 p.m., a shoplifter stole a $750 Emm Kuo purse from Elements in the 4400 block of Lovers Lane.
29 FRIDAY
Between 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 and 11:20 a.m. on Jan. 29, a thief stole a $35,000 silver 2015 Toyota Camry from the 3600 block of Asbury Avenue.
At 11:30 a.m., a scoundrel attempted to steal a $600 Hard Rock bicycle from McCulloch Intermediate School. Theodore Lovett Johnson, 22, was arrested on the charge of theft.
30 SATURDAY
Between 6 p.m. on Jan. 29 and 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 30, a thief stole a silver 2001 Mercedes-Benz E43 in the 2800 block of Fondren Drive.
31 SUNDAY
Between 6:05 and 6:20 a.m., a resident of the 4200 block of University Park was approached by three armed robbers who stole a $500 purse, a $600 cell phone, $1,500 set of Calloway golf clubs, and a $25,000 white 2013 Kia Optima.
Between 11:45 a.m. and 12:04 p.m., a wrongdoer attempted to burgle a home in the 2700 block of Hanover Street.
