HP Harriers Head to Regional Meet

After claiming the District 10-6A cross country title, the Highland Park girls are running toward the Class 6A Region II meet on Monday.

The regional meet will be at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie, with the girls race set for 10 a.m. followed by the boys race. The top teams and individuals will advance to the state meet on Nov. 7 in Round Rock.

At the district meet, HP had three of the top four finishers, including overall champion Hope McLaughlin (19 minutes, 48 seconds), runner-up Sophie Schott (19:53), and fourth-place runner Jordyn Kaplan (20:04). All seven HP finishers were in the top 12 out of 49 competitors.

The HP boys also advanced their entire squad to regionals after a runner-up finish behind Mesquite in the team standings. Logan Gwinn (16:51) placed third individually, while Andrew Kliewer (17:10) was fifth.
