Nancy Clements Seay of University Park has received the prestigious Carolyn Helman Lichtenberg Crest Award from the Pi Beta Phi fraternity for her legacy of community service.

Seay was recognized for more than 40 years of support to more than 100 nonprofit organizations in the Dallas area spanning arts, education, healthcare and faith-based institutions.

Her recent donations include a $175,000 gift to cover costs for planning and designing what will be the largest garden at The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.

Seay has also played a significant role in the development of UT Southwestern’s new William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, which replaced the previous facility last year. The 12-floor, 460-bed hospital is named for Seay’s father, former Texas Governor William P. Clements Jr., who in 2009 made an unprecedented $100 million gift to benefit UT Southwestern.

Seay’s other philanthropic partnerships include the North Texas Food Bank; the Clements Center for History, Strategy and Statecraft at the University of Texas; Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute for Texas; Sky Ranch at Ute Trail; and the Langham Partnership.
