Prep For Easter With a 5K For a Good Cause

You can make a pre-emptive strike against your holiday-weekend food binge — and simultaneously support a good cause — on Saturday at the annual Run for Life 5K at SMU.

The race begins at 9:15 a.m. at Moody Coliseum, and will be preceded by opening ceremonies and a kids’ fun run. There will be the usual awards for individual runners and teams in various age groups. Other on-site activities include an Easter egg hunt, an appearance by the Easter Bunny, bounce houses, food, and live music.

Proceeds will benefit the Gladney Center for Adoption and Buckner Children and Family Services, a pair of local nonprofits that help out children in vulnerable or unstable situations.

You can register here, or for those not interested in breaking a sweat, there’s a “sleep-in” option that allows you to donate a registration fee without ever stepping foot on the course, and then organizers will mail you a race T-shirt.
