Police Report: March 9 to March 14

Skulduggery of the week: Running on Empty

At 3:59 p.m. on March 9, a traffic accident at the intersection of Preston Road and Beverly Drive led to the driver of a red 2008 Honda Civic fleeing on foot toward Dallas Country Club. He was caught near Shenandoah Drive and returned to the scene, where he tried to give officers a false name. He was later taken to Parkland Hospital and given citations for driving without a license, following too closely, and a registration violation. The driver of a beige Mini Cooper that was rear-ended in the collision complained of back pain and a headache, but refused medical treatment. The incident shut down the intersection to traffic for more than an hour.
