Black History Month Celebrated With Dance at Lamplighter
Students at Lamplighter were treated to a performance of “Peter and the Wolf” by the Dallas Black Dance Theatre on Monday.
The presentation was one of the activities the school has planned for Black History Month.
Second grade teacher Lakeshia Peters and Candace Martin, a Lamplighter parent, worked for over a year to bring the dance group to the school.
Their efforts were worth it because Assistant Head for Academics Vicki Raney said the kids “were thrilled with the 45 minute presentation.”
