Simenc Signs to Play Water Polo at Cal

St. Mark’s senior Tim Simenc signed a letter of intent on Wednesday to play water polo for the University of California at Berkeley.

Simenc was named the best high school water polo player in Texas last season and has competed throughout the world, including for Team USA at the 2014 Pan American Games.

He will be the first native Texan ever to play at Cal, but is no stranger to competing in California. For the past two summers, Simenc has played for Lamorinda Water Polo Club in Lafayette, Calif.

This weekend, Simenc is one of just two high school players invited to compete with the New York Athletic Club team in the USA Water Polo National League in Orinda, Calif.
