Parkie Karen Reardon is handing over the reins at the Dallas Arboretum, as far as the Tour Des Fleurs event is concerned. She’s been organizing the staff efforts for the 10K and 20K race since its beginning eight years ago. Now, Dana Murrell will resume her duties with staff organization.

“I’ve been doing this for so long, but it’s now time for me to pass the baton to Dana because with recent stress fractures in my legs, I must be temporarily off my feet,” Reardon said in a statement.

The 7 a.m. race takes place on Sept. 20 and is presented by Dave Perry-Miller and Associates. It kicks off the opening of”Autumn at the Arboretum,” a.k.a. everyone’s favorite pumpkin village/storybook installment. Roughly 2,800 runners are expected to attend.
