Ebby Halliday Acers, Dallas real estate legend and centenarian, cut the ribbon at the “Ebby House” on May 21. The house, located in the Lakewood neighborhood, is a transitional community for young women (18-24) who have aged out of foster care and are looking to live independently. The house, part of Juliette Fowler Communities, can take on 16 young women at a time, each for a period of 12 to 24 months.

“Knowing that The Ebby House will be a place for young girls to reach their potential is just wonderful,” Acers said in a statement.

Each year, it’s estimated that 1,500 young-adult Texans age out of the foster system. Thanks for making a difference, Ebby!
