First off, hi there, everyone. I’m back. You may remember me as a staff writer last year. Now I’m back as assistant editor, because I couldn’t stay away too long.

OK on to the good stuff: one of our beautiful homes in Highland Park will be featured in the 2014 Spring Modern Home Tour on May 17, presented by Briggs-Freeman. Be sure to stop by the “Rose House” at 4504 Bordeaux, which was built in 1938 by Dallas architect Howard Meyer. It’s had only two owners in 76 years.

The tour is self-guided and open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., but there’s also a preview party from 6 – 8 p.m. on May 16 at Collage 20th Century Design. Purchase your $20 ticket in advance here and then pick it up at Will Call at any of the participating homes. Heads up: it’s $25 at the door. Tickets to the reception are $50, but include your ticket for the tour.
