ESD Promotes Coordinator to Head Coach

A month ago, an email from Richard Williams would have identified him as a physics teacher, offensive coordinator and interim head football coach at ESD.

Yesterday, his email signature was changed, dropping both the interim and offensive coordinator tags when Williams was announced as the school’s new head coach.

Williams was the offensive coordinator for the Eagles for the past two seasons under Clayton Sanders, who resigned as head coach in November after a 6-4 season.

Both Sanders and Williams came to ESD in 2012 from Houston Kinkaid, which knocked off the Eagles in the SPC semifinals last season. Williams is a Kinkaid graduate and a former running back at Rice University in the early 1990s.
