Burglars Target Cars at Churches

We like to think of churches as safe havens. Unfortunately, some criminals think of them as fertile ground for loot. Here are a few excerpts from the Police Report email we just sent out:

Between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, a burglar broke into a silver 2006 Toyota SUV at Northwest Bible Church and stole a $300 iPad, a $250 HTC phone, and a $150 iPhone.

Between 10 and 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, a burglar broke into a black 2005 Chevrolet sedan at Northwest Bible Church and stole a $25 wallet that contained a debit card and a driver’s license.

Between 10:30 and 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, a burglar broke into three vehicles at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church — a blue 2008 Mercedes sedan, a white 2011 GMC SUV, and a white 2007 GMC SUV — and stole three $500 iPhones (one from each vehicle), a $400 purse, a $300 purse, and $130 cash.
