Fraschilla Promotes Charity With Trick Shots

I’ve seen people do plenty of crazy tricks with a basketball, but nothing like some of the stunts in a YouTube video posted this week by former Highland Park standout James Fraschilla

Now a junior guard at the University of Oklahoma, Fraschilla performs more than a dozen incredible trick shots in which he bounces a ball off of walls, floors, other balls, and just about anything else in a gym. It’s the third such video Fraschilla has made, and like any good magician, he doesn’t reveal his secrets.

Better still, it’s all for a good cause. Fraschilla made the videos to promote the Children’s Organ Transplant Association and specifically to benefit Hayden’s Hope, a charity started by ESPN studio host Dari Nowkhah, who is a colleague of Fran Fraschilla, a college basketball analyst on the network. Fran Fraschilla, of course, is James’ father.

According to a tweet by James this morning, the video already has prompted $3,000 in donations using this link. It has generated almost 35,000 hits in less than three days.

At any rate, the three-minute video includes cameo appearances by ESPN’s Jay Bilas, Sooners quarterback Trevor Knight, and a couple of kids from Haiti. Cool stuff.
