The Highland Park volleyball team is off to a strong start to the season with last weekend’s 6-2 showing at the Pearland Tournament.

The Lady Scots won their first six games of the tourney, knocking off Fort Bend Travis (25-12, 25-17), New Braunfels Canyon (25-23, 27-25), Leander Rouse (25-17, 25-18), Friendswood (25-20, 25-22), Rockwall-Heath (25-21, 19-25, 25-16), and Colleyville Heritage (22-25, 25-23, 27-25) to remain in the hunt to win the tournament.

However, Highland Park then lost to Class 5A schools The Woodlands (25-16, 25-22) and San Antonio Churchill (25-20, 23-25, 25-18) on the final day of the tourney on Saturday.

The Lady Scots will be back on the court for a 7 p.m. contest at Byron Nelson on Tuesday.
