Three area teams are headed to the high school football playoffs, which open this week.

Parish Episcopal (9-1) will host Waco Reicher (5-5) in a TAPPS Division II area contest at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The winner advances to take on the Bullard Brookhill-Midland Christian winner in the regional round next week.

The Covenant School (9-1) will also host Austin Veritas (7-4) in a TAPPS Six-Man Division I area contest at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The winner of that game will play the Watauga Harvest-Abilene Christian winner in the second round next week. Covenant lost to Abilene Christian in last year’s title game.

Finally, in the UIL Class 5A state playoffs, Jesuit (8-2) will face McKinney Boyd (6-4) in a Division II b-district game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Murphy’s Kimbrough Stadium. The winner will play the Longview-Rowlett winner in the area round.
