Yavneh Athletes Dedicate Time On & Off The Court

Last week, Yevneh Academy basketball players participated in a community service project where they really had to roll up their sleeves. They built sukkahs, which is a seasonal hut used during the celebration of Sukkot, a Jewish holiday. (I had never heard these words before. Wikipedia explains it all here)

“Being able to help participate in this wonderful mitzvah helps build teamwork, it promote Jewish values, and it allows our athletes to make a difference,” said athletic director and David Zimmerman in a press release.

Participating athletes include Meir Epstein, Itai Guttman, Ori Guttman, Adam Karnett, Sam Kleinman, Josh Lynn, Jonathan Ochstein, Grant Prengler, Adam Schor, Adam Steinbrecher, and David Steinbrecher.
