Fifth-Grade Hockadaisy Wins Design Contest

Lily Forbes, a fifth-grader at Hockaday, loves two things: costume design and the book Pinkalicious. So it only made sense to enter the Dallas Children’s Theater Costume Contest. Lily received the first-place award for her designs. When I spoke with her, she told me her goal was to make the costume look as little as a bee as possible, while still looking like a bee. A very worthy task indeed, and her designs were fabulous. Lily had a blast at the reception and loved meeting the other competitors and seeing the other designs! Her favorite part? “The pink cupcakes.”
