Highland Park Football Ready to Roll

The Highland Park Scots open their 2012 season tonight when they take on three-time defending Class 4A Division II state champions Aledo at 7:30 p.m. in the Tom Landry Classic at SMU’s Ford Stadium.

Make sure you go to the game with your head full of Scots football knowledge by reading our special football section in today’s Park Cities People. It’s one of the biggest editions we’ve had in a long time at 24 pages. I think it’s also one of best we’ve ever done, so make sure you check it out.

    That welcome mat is hideous. Was that part of the concept for this shoot? I might suggest a tasteful sisal mat with a nice big H on it.

    Is being Captain like a participation award now? Does everyone on the starting lineup get to be a “Captain”?

    @Avid,

    They have 6 captains because they could only find 6 guys to pose for that ridiculous picture. Someone at PCP should be held accountable for putting our children in that position, especially with that “hideous” welcome mat.

    hummm. What’s your problem @Avid? Why the mean spirited comment about who gets Captain? The team votes on these kids and it is usually kids who are above average talent — so that would naturally lend itself to those who are on “the starting lineup”. Ease up! and please don’t start with the whole story about how these captain votes are rigged. That is such an old, tired story…
    How about letting these kids enjoy the privilege/honor without people trying to make some snide comment!
