ESD Qualifies For State 7-on-7 Tournament

The Episcopal School of Dallas has qualified for the 7-on-7 state tourney.

The Episcopal School of Dallas picked up its first berth in the Division II 7-on-7 State Tournament by winning a qualifying tourney last weekend in Wichita Falls.

ESD beat top-seeded Boyd, 33-18, in the finals. The Eagles also defeated several Class 3A and 2A schools, including Eastland, Iowa Park, and Wichita Falls.

“We need to be very proud of our ESD 7-on-7 football players,” new Eagles head football coach Clayton Sanders said. “They battled through the heat, traveling, cramps, and fatigue. They chose to adapt and overcome the adversity, and come out on the other side as tournament champions and state qualifiers. I am excited for ESD football and for these players.”

The state tournament is July 19-20 in College Station.
