Former NBA Player Joins SMU Staff

George Lynch, who played 12 seasons in the NBA, has been named the strength and conditioning coordinator on new head coach Larry Brown’s staff at SMU.

Lynch, who has spent the last two seasons at UC-Irvine as a strength and conditioning coach and assistant athletics director for community relations, was a manager for SMU during the 2006-07 season.

Lynch was a member of the 2001 Philadelphia 76ers team that made it to the NBA Finals under Brown. In college, Lynch helped North Carolina win the 1993 NCAA title.
