It’s Supposed to be 72 And Sunny Today. Leave Your Office.

I don’t pretend that my job is terrible, because it’s not. There are a lot of my friends (fellow reporters, across the country) who complain a decent amount about our hours, or our pay, or whatever. But, come on, we get paid to write stories, meet interesting people, and sit in pretty nice seats at basketball games. It’s a pretty charmed life, and I thank God for that regularly.

Today is not an exception. A few weeks ago, we got a D Magazine-wide memo saying that we’d been given (seemingly) random full and half days off. Today (in honor of Texas Independence Day and Peasant Day in Burma) we’re all bouncing out at noon.

You should, too. It’s supposed to be 72 this afternoon, and if you leave now you’ll probably grab a spot on the patio before it fills up.

Top Five Patios That You’re Most Likely To See Me On In Less Than Three Hours:

1. Katy Trail Ice House

2. Gingerman

3. Union Bear

4. City Tavern

5. Lakewood Landing

So, really, split. If you run into me, and say “Hey, Park Cities People!” I’ll buy your first drink. Especially you, Piper Man.

Who says that Brad is always negative? Wish I had seen this on Friday–maybe I’d have finally made it to Katy Trail Ice House.

On the other hand Brad, Ozona still has one of the best patios in town.
