I’m voting for the one with long, straight hair and no bangs.

They all look the same. That haircut has got to go out of style soon for kids. My 5th grade daughter has taken it up now. Where is the individuality?

The haircut isn’t the same for these six girls, it’s the same for EVERY girl in the Park Cities. Time to introduce the Fro back into the bubble!

Oh yeah. I’ve heard of that. We don’t get that around here.

An interesting note on the basketball queens is that they have always focused a lot on the behavior and personalities of the girls, more so than some of the other coveted girl positions at HP. It would be interesting to know more about these girls and their activities to help us to know what made the basketball boys choose them.

DS- Where’s the individuality in your parenting? Does your 5th grader get to make her own haircut appointments and style decisions? Peter- only one is a Belle the others are athletes, scholars and just all-around nice girls. Cynthia – great point…why doesn’t PCP do a REAL story instead of hiding behind this blog? Too bad PCP is more interested in stirring up controversy with uninformed comments, rumors, etc… than reporting on this student tradition and focusing on the achievements of these outstanding young women.

wisemom-let me guess…you listen to Howard Stern to complain about what he puts on his show. Go away and this blog won’t effect you in any way, shape or form.
Most reasonably intelligent people can see the point of conformity. No harm, no foul. I laugh at old pics of myself and my friends. We thought we were so non-conforming, yet we look identical.
The Politically Correct Police need to go bye-bye.
Actually, put your money where your judgemental mouth is:
Create your own subjects for this blog. I’m sure Dan, et al, would be happy to publish them and compare the feedback.

Based on many of his posts, Dan seems to disdain the Park Cities. I don’t consider the PCP a good representation of what has happens here. Like someone said, it’s rumor mongering and half reported. I wouldn’t waste my time giving him story ideas, grump.

    Boy mom,

I love the Park Cities. If I could afford to live here, I would. Heck, I might even if I can’t afford it — don’t rule out the idea of my wife and I selling our Richardson house when our youngest reaches kindergarten age in favor of renting in University Park. Can I count on you to welcome us to the neighborhood with a basket of muffins?

    Love,

    Dan

Seems like @Boy mom has just been waiting to post this about Dan. Finally couldn’t stand it anymore so they had to shoehorn in this “complaint” on a post of his that is far beyond innocuous. Someone explain to me how Dan (not the posters that rightly point out the stepford belle syndrome) is showing disdain for the Park Cities by this posting?

The girls are precious. Dan, we love you. Maybe it’s the lack of sunshine over the past couple of days that’s causing grumblings. Which sweet girl won, by the way?

    Dan –

As many Park Cities events as you attend, often with you son, I hope you feel like you are part of the community.

I suggest renting in the Armstrong footprint – we don’t take ourselves quite so seriously there.

For those still wondering, I’ve been told by the HPISD communications staff that Madeline Roberts was crowned Basketball Queen.
