Dr. Mary Kathryn Hyland & Dr. Austin Tanner Eagleton

Mary Kathryn Hyland and Austin Tanner Eagleton weddingDr. Mary Kathryn Hyland and Dr. Austin Tanner Eagleton exchanged wedding vows June 11 at Sain Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. The ceremony was officiated by the Revs. Dr. Robert S. Dannals and Josef Caldwell. Bagpiper Ray Clapp welcomed guests to the church, and nuptial music was provided by organist James Diaz and flute soloist Helen Blackburn. Following the ceremony, families and friends gathered for a wedding brunch and dancing at the Park City Club.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Walton Hyland of Highland Park. She is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Gwinn Fincher Sr. of El Dorado, Ark., and Mr. and Mrs. John Francis Hyland of Fayetteville, Ark.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lynn Eagleton of Azle, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Joseph Philip Eagleton of Azle and the late Mr. Joseph Philip Eagleton, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Breen Arledge of White Settlement, Texas.

The bride selected an elegant gown of imported silk satin with heirloom, beaded, Alencon lace designed by Patti Flowers of Dallas. Her gown featured a fitted, draped bodice with portrait neckline and sleeves of lace. The graceful sweep skirt fell to slipper-length and cascaded to a court-length train, detailed with bridal buttons to the hem. The bride wore pearl earrings, a gift from the groom. She carried a Margaret Ryder bouquet of roses and sage foliage.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Attending her as matrons of honor were Summer Eagleton Crow and Susan Brooke Woods. Bridesmaids included Logan Elise Dryden, Catherine Alexis Elder, Margaret Brosseau Johnson, Jessica Elaine Killough, Christine Wilson Lieb, Jordan Koschak Maedgen, Jennifer Lee Owen, and Kimberley Covert Robinson.

The best man was Matthew Kennedy Seidler. Groomsmen included Dr. Javier Antonio Aguirre, Dr. Daniel Gregory Benson, Donald Clyde Crow Jr., Dr. Stephen James Halliday, George Ray Harvick II, Dr. John Austin Lahourcade, Timothy James Nisbet, and John McLeary Short. Serving as ushers were Robert Matthew Innamorati and John Machir Stull.

Julie Hyland Ambler and Leslie Hyland Rodgers read Scripture during the ceremony. Members of the house party included Julia Charlotte Ambler, John Price Ambler, Katelynn Susan Mangrum, and Edward Raley Maier Fincher. Rebecca Brooke Mangrum was the flower girl. The ring bearers were Lyndon Travis Crow and Griffin Tyler Crow.

The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Kappa Kappa Gamma. She received an M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She has begun her residency at UT Southwestern-Austin, in pediatrics at Dell Children’s Hospital.

The groom is a graduate of Azle High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Texas A&M University at College Station, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He received his Master of Public Health from Texas A&M Health Science Center at College Station, where he was a member of Delta Omega Honor Society. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and has begun his general surgery residency at UT Southwestern-Austin at Brackenridge and Seton Hospitals.

Bagpiper Ray Clapp bid farewell to the couple as they departed the reception for Rough Creek Lodge. Following their wedding trip, the couple are at home in Austin.
