Moms’ Group Supports Preston Hollow Park, 2 Libraries

(Dallas—May 13, 2011) Preston Hollow Early Childhood PTA moms are wrapping up another school year. But before their books close, they showed their community support by donating $6,000 to 2 local libraries and the Preston Hollow Park Project.

Preston Hollow Early Childhood PTA donated $5,000 this spring to help fund another circular bench for Preston Hollow Park. Last year, the first circular bench was installed, and quickly became a popular spot to relax. Situated under a big shade tree, parents were able to watch their children play in the sand, and on the swings and slides. The circular bench proved to be a huge asset to the play ground so Preston Hollow Early Childhood PTA partnered with Preston Hollow Women’s Club and pooled their money to purchase a second bench. It is scheduled to be installed this summer.

Last week, PHECPTA gave $500 each to Preston Royal Branch Library and Book Marks Library at North Park Mall as a thank you for offering so many wonderful activities for young children. PHECPTA especially wanted to thank Book Marks for allowing the group to hold a membership drive at the library last fall. PHECPTA moms handed out balloons and informational postcards to mothers and children.

Mothers who are interested in joining PHECPTA can do so by visiting their website at www.PHECPTA.org. PHECPTA is affiliated with the state and national PTA but is not associated with any particular school or religious organization. The annual due is $35, which covers state and national PTA dues.
