I Visit NorthPark so You Don’t Have to

Want an update on the comings and goings at NorthPark Center and its neighbor, The Shops at Park Lane? You got one. Let’s take these in chronological order.

Billabong, the brand of casual clothing designed to appeal to “action sports” enthusiasts, opened its first Texas store Oct. 30. It’s on NorthPark’s second floor, between Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. By the way, the manager told me her name is “Yazz.” Of course it is.

Just a few doors down, Cherish women’s boutique opened Nov. 6. This is the company’s third outlet; it also has stores in Southlake and on the southeast corner of Preston and Royal.

Vera Bradley handbags, stationery, and luggage can be found in several area stores, including Bag ’n’ Baggage, Peek in the Attic, and Preston Road Pharmacy. But the brand is opening a store of its own tomorrow, in the first-floor hallway between Macy’s and Nordstrom.

That’s all well and good. But the news that matches my taste and style is that Old Navy will officially open Nov. 20 in the Shops at Park Lane.
