HPISD Gets High Marks For Financial Integrity

With all the talk on this blog about where ACE fees go, it seems only fair to acknowledge that Highland Park ISD has received a rating of “superior achievement” under the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, aka School FIRST.

The rating was based on an analysis of staff and student data reported for the 2008-09 school year, and budgetary and actual financial data for fiscal 2009, which ended Aug. 31, 2009.

According to a news release issued by HPISD yesterday afternoon, “the primary goal of School FIRST is to achieve quality performance in the management of school districts’ financial resources, a goal made more significant due to the complexity of accounting associated with Texas’ school finance system. The accountability system was established in 2003.”
