Lindalyn Adams: Dallas’ Own Betty White

Saturday Night Live may have scored a coup with Betty White this past weekend, but the Dallas Historical Society hit the ball out of the park with Lindalyn Adams (pictured far right with, from the left, Phil Collins, Lynn and Alan McBee and Max Wells) last night at Fair Park. She and Ango Wynne had a conversation with her old bud Phil Collins.

Before they chatted in front of an audience of Phil-ites about Phil’s favorite subject, The Alamo, Lindalyn and Phil recalled their first meeting in the Virgin Islands back in 1982. When Phil told her that he worked with Genesis, she thought he was associated with some religious group. She’s definitely learned better.

I love me some Lindalyn! She’s lively, has great stories to tell and is still so active in Dallas philanthropy. I read that they met at Caneel Bay, A Rosewood Resort which makes me very happy, of course!

I have the GREAT privilege of working with Lindalyn at the Baylor Health Care Foundation. What a gift she is to us all! I love Betty White but Lindalyn is certainly MUCH more genteel!

How wonderful! I saw Phil Collins/Genesis in concert in college many moons ago, and I’m happy to hear he’s passionate about the Alamo. And Lindalyn is a woman of many talents, having just been Honorary Chair for the Junior League of Dallas’ Ball.

And having watched clips of SNL, Lindalyn is much classier than Betty!
