Jesuit Headed to State

The Jesuit soccer team is one step closer to becoming the first private school to ever win a University Interscholastic League state title in any sport after knocking off El Paso Bel Air, 2-1, in a shootout, on Saturday in Midland.

Jesuit (23-0-0) has lost in the Class 5A Region I finals each of the last two seasons, making Saturday’s win extra sweet for the nation’s No. 1-ranked team.

The Class 5A state semifinals will be at 4 and 6 p.m. Thursday in Georgetown. The state final is at 1 p.m. Saturday.
