Twist-A-Beads Spotted in University Park. In 2010.

I saw a typically hip Parkie wearing twist-a-beads this morning. It’s alarming but I’m trying to stay calm while I investigate the following.

  1. If twist-a-beads make a come back, will the Betamax return too?
  2. Will Northpark get another Judy’s? Or Contempo?
  3. And could I tease my bangs like the old days?

UPDATE: Send me your 80s pic.

I loved twist-a-beads! Such a practical accessory. There are some 80s trends worth revisiting, but wearing your sorority colors every day in your non-lettered wardrobe (red and yellow, pink and green, blue and pink, turquoise and silver, etc.) should not be one of them.

Well, that makes sense. Brass is coming back in, too…

Speaking of the 80s, xhtml wasn’t being done then. That’s a lot of coding for just one post.

NO WAY!! This is awesome…Contempo?? Judy’s?? I completely forgot about those stores. And, I feel really old that this is even an issue. To my fellow XO sister, I found out at my doctors office yesterday that his assistant could get me some jelly shoes from the “hood” as she says. I put my order in for every single color she could get her hands on. This is one item that I haven’t seen anywhere–especially in HP. We used to buy them at Cotton Island back in the day. And, these are the original ones – with the criss-cross pattern. I plan on wearing them as much as possible this summer. Orders? anyone???

I wore my twistabeads just last week. I need a purple strand or two – they’ve become missing over the years. I was online when looking to purchase them when I saw this article. I love my twist a beads- yes, I’d vote them for a come back- I just took mine out about a month ago from a trunk of High School Memoriablia…they still look good and I can so match them with everything!
