Speaking of Seeing a Good Movie…

After Monday’s HP Town Council meeting, the folks over at Highland Park Village have some major changes in store for the historic Village Theatre, including a restaurant and lounge space dubbed the Marquee Club (taking over the Escada space and increasing patio seating) while reducing the number of auditorium seats from 568 to 354. All told, the changes in capacity will actually decrease the number of necessary spaces, changing the number of surplus spaces from 24 to 25.27.

In other council news, O’Brien Engineering presented a thorough evaluation of both the Wycliffe Avenue Dam and the Exall Lake Dam, both of which are owned an maintained by the town. The firm recommended several repairs and restoration opportunities for the dams, built in 1900 and 1890, respectively.
